No New Posts GROUND FLOOR --

Upon entering the school you may notice that the outside looks a tad run down, however once you make it past the solid oak front doors you'll notice that the inside is surprisingly beautiful. The walls are painted in a light cream, accented by painted portraits of past headmasters and students. A large staircase sits across from the front doors, extending up to the left and right allowing access to the second floor of the school. The lobby is covered in styled rugs, and modern furniture that matches the cream tiles along the floor. To the left is a long hallway leading to the staff dorms; the right a pair of stain glass doors leading into the library. TO the left of the stair case stands another pair of doors that leads into the school's theater; and to the right a short hallway that leads into the student's and guest lounge.

No New Posts SECOND FLOOR --

Up the staircase from the lobby, you'll be given two choices, left or right. At some point they do connect once again, but that the beginning the hallways are split apart. To the left are a series of rooms, mostly offices for counselor's and of course the Headmaster. To the right of the staircase is the school infirmary. Down the hall to the right you'll eventually run into a series of hallways. Each hallway leads into a different section of dorm rooms for the students. The females go down the left series of halls, and the males down the right series of halls. Continuing down the hallway where the counselor offices are, you'll hit a wide opening that leads into a massive room. This is the cafeteria, and on special occasions a dance hall.

No New Posts THIRD FLOOR --

The third floor is home to a series of classrooms and hallways. There are a few different wings on this floor and each wing is home to a different class. Students can get here from the stairs or by taking one of two elevators located near the northern end of the building.

No New Posts FOURTH FLOOR -- - 1 Viewing

The fourth floor resembles the third floor in a lot of ways. It is split into separate wings that contain the different types of classes. This floor can also be reached by stairs or elevator. There are two distinct differences on this floor though. The first is the Art, Film, and Music wing. Per the request of the teacher the walls have been torn down, leaving the wing one massive sized room. Here the props for plays are created, and there are several sets of small bleachers around the room where the students can sit. The other part that is different on this floor is the southern wing is boarded shut and padlocked from the inside.

No New Posts ROOF TOP --

The only way to get to the roof is by a set of stairs that start on the Fourth Floor and open onto the roof. The roof top spreads across the entire width of the building. A decent sized pool lies to the left of the stairs with lounge chairs and tables along it's length. To the right is a large greenhouse where botany classes are held, and just beyond the green house is another small house-like structure where Astronomy&Astrology classes are held.

No New Posts THE GROUNDS --

The grounds surronding the Academy are very extensive. From the east there are acres of garden that include some species of flowers and plants that don't generally grow in the Nevada climate. Behind the school are acres of fields used for sporting events, including a track, tennis courts and a concert hall where students can perform for their peers outside. Along the western side of the school is miles upon miles of dense woods. Named Desdemona, the wooded area stretches far into the distance and houses countless amounts of animals.

BROOKINGS & SURROUNDING AREAS

No New Posts DOWNTOWN --

Downtown Brookings is home to the busiest parts of the city. Main Street runs up the middle of the city, home to a plethora of shops and restaurants. A large section of downtown has been blocked off to build a new apartment complex, half of which has been finished and move-in ready. Cinema 27 is the only movie theater in the city and takes up one block's worth of street. By far the most modern building in Brookings.

No New Posts NORTH TOWN --

North Town is the newest part of the city. Having been built in more recent years when people began to flock here for the school. The housing is of better quality, with a better police protection than the other side of town.

No New Posts SOUTH TOWN --

South Town is the older part of town. Most of the housing and buildings in this part of the city have been there for decades and do not receive a yearly clean up like the Northern part of town. Monark Hospital is the newest of buildings, and even it has more wear and tear than most of the buildings to the north. The hospital is the major source of jobs for the area and does receive attention from rich benefactors when it comes to the equipment they have. Along the same road as the hospital is a stretch of low income housing where a lot of the original, founding members of Brookings have ended up.

No New Posts 42ND STREET --

This is the only street that leads into and out of town, hooking up with the nearest highway. It is literally the only way to get out of Brookings by car. The last stop here is the Last Chance Diner, cleverly named by it's owner as it is the last stop for gas and food in almost one hundred miles in any direction. There is also a bus stop here, but the bus only comes once a day.

In the middle of the lake is a small island covered in trees and shrubby. Along the shoreline is part of a ruined building, rumored to be the original Brookings Prison. Into the tree line is the rest of the ruins, and wilds that people are rarely brave enough to explore.
